The hallway of your home is an easy area to skip over when turning a house into your home. Most of us think of a hallway as an area for transit, which it is. But why not add a little bit of your style so you can enjoy transitioning from one room to another?!

Here are some ways you can design & style your hallway:

Pendant Lights

Not all hallways are big enough to actually add décor or furniture. So look up at the ceiling and get creative! Pendant lights are the perfect way to bring your personal style into a hallway. Not only do they offer something beautiful that meets the eye, but that also brighten up your hallway - which is always necessary (especially if your walls are not painted white).

Beams

In addition to decorating the ceiling with pendant lights, you can use beams to add flow throughout the house. If there is currently not lighting in the hallway area, adding beams to the ceiling would save you a lot of money and hassle by just adding beams. If you choose to do this, you want to make sure there is enough natural light. If cost is not a concern, beams and pendant lights complement each other wonderfully.

Add Minimal Décor

If you have space, add a bench and some plants to bring contrast to the hallway. Adding pillows with different colors and/or textures that are present in other rooms will help create the flow through the hallway. Adding a colorful rug will also liven up the area and make the hallway feel just as important as the other rooms in the home.

Cabinetry

Not only does cabinetry add a clean look to your hallway, but it is also very practical! More space in needed for cabinets and they are best if placed where they can be useful. You can use the shelves to add more minimal décor or to keep some of your everyday belongings. Hooks are a great accessory to add to hallway cabinetry. Cabinetry takes a hallway from a strictly a transition area to a useful part of the home.

Shelves

Similar to cabinetry, shelves can offer an area to add more minimal décor and break up a blank wall space. The great thing about shelves is that they barely take up any room. Hallways are typically already lacking space and we already went over adding something to the ceiling, so now we are left with the walls. Shelving is the perfect solution to bring aesthetic into the hallway without taking up the amount of space that cabinetry does.
